Celebrating 10 Years of VCRE

Reaching a 10-year milestone is something special. It’s a time to reflect, to appreciate, and to look ahead with purpose. As we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of VCRE, we were reminded that this journey has never been about one person or one deal—it has always been about people, relationships, and community.

This celebration was filled with gratitude. And that’s exactly where we want to begin.

A Community That Shows Up

To Rick Weldon and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce—thank you.

Your kind words, your continued support, and your friendship over the years mean more than we can put into words. The ribbon cutting was more than ceremonial. It symbolized the partnership and trust that helped VCRE grow from an idea into a respected presence in Frederick’s commercial real estate market.

That kind of support doesn’t happen everywhere. It happens here because Frederick is different. It’s connected. It’s engaged. It’s built on people who show up for one another.

At the end of the day, businesses don’t build themselves—people do. And having the right people alongside you makes all the difference.

Words That Remind Us Why We Do This

We were honored by the words shared by community leaders who understand the true impact of commercial real estate when it’s done right.

County Council Member Brad Young captured what the past decade has meant—not just for VCRE, but for Frederick as a whole. His recognition of the role VCRE has played in supporting local businesses, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating opportunities speaks directly to our mission.

Because real estate is never just about buildings.

It’s about:

  • Helping a business owner find the right space to grow

  • Supporting investment that strengthens our local economy

  • Creating places where people can work, connect, and succeed

That’s the work. And that’s the impact.

A City We’re Proud to Call Home

A sincere thank you to Mayor Michael O’Connor for the proclamation and continued support.

Frederick is not just where we do business—it’s home. It’s where relationships are built, where ideas take shape, and where growth happens in a way that feels intentional and connected.

We are proud to be part of a city with such a strong history and an even brighter future.

Leadership That Invests in Community

We are grateful to County Executive Jessica Fitzwater for taking the time to celebrate with us.

Her words reflected something we care deeply about—building something that lasts. Not just a company, but a culture. Not just transactions, but relationships. Not just growth, but meaningful growth.

Her recognition of our team—Maria, Justin, Amos, Melanie, and Arianna—reminds us that VCRE is strongest because of the people behind it.

A team that works hard.
A team that cares.
A team that shows up every day ready to solve problems and make things happen.

The Energy Behind the Celebration

To everyone who helped bring the event to life—thank you.

A special thank you to:

  • The Ceresville Mansion team—a true VCRE client success story

  • Sage Cakery for the incredible dessert spread

  • Lumberjakkss for the custom-made VCRE coasters

  • Frederick Basket Company for the creative prize giveaways

  • Turbulence for the entertainment—an unforgettable performance and a special moment shared with my son Lucas and his band mates, Alex, Alex, and wait for it, Alex :-)

Moments like these don’t happen on their own. They are created by people who care enough to make them memorable. This was a night we won’t forget.

The Families Behind the Business

There is another group that deserves recognition—the families of VCRE.

The late nights. The early mornings. The constant movement. None of it happens without support at home.

To the families who stand behind us, encourage us, and believe in what we’re building—thank you. You are part of this story in a way that often goes unseen, but never unappreciated.

Where It All Started

The story of VCRE didn’t begin in a boardroom. It started with a conversation.

I shared the idea with my dad. At the time, I had a different path in mind. I was set on becoming a lawyer. Real estate wasn’t part of the plan.

His response?

“Go work.”  “Bringing people together is what you do.”

Simple. Direct. Honest.

And that’s exactly what we did.

That mindset—roll up your sleeves and get to work—has shaped everything about VCRE. It drives how we approach challenges, how we serve clients, and how we continue to grow.

Looking Ahead to the Next Decade

As we look toward the next 10 years, one thing is clear—we’re just getting started.

We will continue to:

  • Support business owners as they grow and evolve

  • Help investors navigate opportunities with clarity and confidence

  • Guide landowners through important decisions with care

  • Partner with municipalities to create thoughtful, community-focused development

  • Deliver dependable, responsive service every step of the way

This is what we do. And more importantly, it’s who we are.

At VCRE, we don’t just complete transactions. We build relationships. We solve problems. We stay connected to the community we serve.

That commitment remains unchanged.

Thank You

To everyone who has been part of this journey—clients, partners, leaders, friends, and family—thank you.

Your trust, your support, and your belief in what we’re building have made these 10 years possible.

And as we step into the next decade, we carry that same mindset forward:

Work hard. Stay connected. Make an impact.

And most importantly…

Have fun.
